Senior Interaction Designer (HARVTXHOUIHealth)

Job Location: Houston, TX

Description
Are you looking for a role that will allow you to work with product analysts, product management, software developers, and our client’s customers to produce a world class user experience? Are you familiar with standard concepts, practices, laws, procedures and appropriately apply them to a variety of unusual or complex situation? This might be a perfect match for you! We are looking for someone that relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Translates high level business requirements into tangible user interface proposals that integrate the latest standards in interaction design and trends in visual design.
  • Develops detailed interaction and visual design specifications and work closely with the development teams to implement them.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes user research & understanding to define appropriate functionality and product requirements to drive future redesigns.
  • Defines and designs User Experience Architectures (comprised of wireframes, sitemaps, interaction flows, and prototypes) for desktop and online applications as well as web and mobile experiences.
  • Determines the long-term vision for our products and their user experience based on product and market trends and corporate direction.
  • Defines and designs User Experience Strategies and Frameworks representing the future state of integrated solutions, product suites and integration into broader Nielsen strategies.
  • Insures teams are applying Nielsen UX/UI standards and processes including user feedback and testing through design and development.
  • Applies knowledge of state and federal laws and/or regulations. Familiar with procedures, regulations and guidelines. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Recommends business solutions to resolve or improve department processes.
  • Researches and responds to routine and complex inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Trains coworkers on regulations, policies, and procedures. May lead coworkers including prioritizing work, establishing deadlines, delegating and following-up on work. Provides training and skill assessment of coworkers to Supervisor.
  • Leads projects including establishing time lines, deliverables, and drafting communications or presentations. Reviews co-workers work to ensure accuracy.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
 

Requirements
  • At least five (5) years of designing complex web or desktop applications experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design or equivalent required.
  • Strong experience with design software packages such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash required.
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, processes, and techniques.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel required.
